A-frican Out!

For those confused by the title....if you pronounce it the way it spelt, it sounds like I freaking out.

Which I am...freaking out of excited!!!!


So the other day we finally received the email, we (the team) had been waiting on, our travel itinerary! When we got the news we were going on this missions trip, we were told we would be from June 1st-July 29th. I was assuming that we would leave on June 1st, and to my surprise, when I got our itinerary, the departure date said May 30th! Thats two whole days then what I planned for, but I'm actually glad that we are leaving earlier. For those of you who know me, you also know that I will be turning 20 on May 30th. This possibly could be the best present I've ever had: leaving my comfortable life here to go and do God's work. How awesome! I wish you all could feel the feelings I have right now! I can't wait!!!

Anyways, heres a breakdown of my itinerary:

May 30th: Leave from Charlotte 
May 30th: Arrive in Atlanta
May 30th: Leave from Atlanta
May 31st: Arrive in Johannesburg, Africa
-Spend the night in Jo'burg-
June 1st: Fly from Jo'burg to Manzini, Swaziland
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE PRAY FOR SAFE FLIGHTS AND NO INTERRUPTIONS DURING TRAVEL!!! Thanks in Advance!!!


We also received pictures from the guy who will be our head contact guy in Swaziland. We were told that the guys will be in the more mountainous region with a cooler climate. Welcome to my home for the next two months!!!!!

We're Moving To South Carolina! We always knew that we would move back closer to family once we were ready to start a family. Jenn and I both thought that move would come in another 2-3 years but the Lord seems to have other plans. When Home is a Stranger

I heard it said once that time and life are both like flowing rivers. You can get out and get back in but the water you touched once, you will never touch again. Though it is the same river, it will never be the same water. I knew moving back to South Carolina was going to be a transition of sorts. I knew that even when I left, time kept moving. I knew home wouldn't be the same place I left. "13 Reasons Why" in Real Life.

*** This blog may contain spoilers*** If you're anything like me, you've probably already binged or watched most of the new Netflix hit, "13 Reasons Why". This new show has captivated audiences and centers around a protagonist named Hannah Baker. What you find out at the beginning is Hannah Baker killed herself and the rest of the series is the why. Each episode centers around another person that Hannah credits her suicide. Whether it is the awkward school photographer or the captain of the basketball team, each character, in Hannah's eyes, gave her a reason to end her life. I won't continue to delve into for the sake of not giving away too much, but why is a show about a high school student committing suicide a new American craze? The reason?
