Hey God...Can you hold my beer?
Preface: This is not a post of judgment, this a post of awareness, and saying something needs to change.
As I sit here, I can't count how many bible verses are popping up on people's facebook statuses. This is a good thing right? Usually, yes, but these same people who are putting up these statuses are putting up pictures of them drinking, or their next status will contain profanity of some sort.
Whats wrong with that picture?
Does that make any sense? In a sense these kind of Christianity is what I like to call "Convenient Christianity" and unfortunately, this is a majority of American Christianity has become. Instead of believing there is an Almighty God who is always with us, most people believe that God is there only when they need Him...which isn't true at all.
Being a Christian isn't a convenience, its a way of life. Its everything we breathe. Its our lifeline. Without it WE ARE DEAD. So how can we turn it into something that we use like a pill when we're sick? You see God doesn't need us to worship Him, the Bible says that everything in this world is doing that. Instead, He chose US, His creation who were created in His image,to live our lives devoted totally to living for Him. And yet we only call on Him when we find it to advance our lives.
Jesus did not go through the pain and torture, followed by eventual death, for us to use the term Christian as another description on a Facebook page. It doesn't work that way. It never has. It never will.
A friend of mine, coincidentally, wrote on this subject earlier this week. I would like to put it on my blog for all of you to read. Her name is Jordyn Eads, and she is a woman after God's heart.

"Designer God"
Reading the Bible, going to church, calling yourself a christian, doesn't make you a christian anymore than putting on a Ralph Lauren suit makes you Ralp Lauren. Many people take on a form of godliness, but no God is in them. Well the one true God is not in them. Other "gods" are working in and through them to their own demise as well as others. Professing christianity and not living it hurts so many people. God is not a designer God, you can put on when you want to look or feel better. God is generic, therefore everybody all the time anywhere. He is not something we can pick up and put on. God wants to be and is the designer of your life. Something God does in your life will always fit, look right, and feel good. If we will yield ourselves completely to him, he will put something on us that fits us perfectly and we will look beautiful IN IT. We will be "noticed", set apart. Allow God to design your life. Yield yourself to him, see and find out what he has for you. I can tell you eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, what God has in store for those who love him and submit themselves a living sacrifice. Holy and acceptable. God is waiting for an invitation from you, to become your "Designing God". He fashioned you before the world began. I am certain he knows your exact size and exactly where you are in your life today and exactly what you need to face your tomorrows. God desires to be a perfect fit for you and nothing feels better than something that fits. It gives you a confidence of a sort, makes you feel good about yoruself and attractive. When you allow GOD to be your Designer of all just look around you, and he will give you all these things: confidence makes us feel good.

We must decrease, so He can increase!!!!!!
